Oh dear, Batman and Penguin's debate is just a leeetle too familiar

This post-debate gem just landed in my email inbox. Of course, it plays right into the Batman obsession around here.

It's good it makes me laugh because otherwise, I'd get too creeped out by the many parallels between The Penguin and The McCain (and yes, that includes a little "my friends" refrain). The Barack-Batman connection's no stretch. But it does make me wonder when Hillary's going to enter stage right in a rubber suit. And would that make Sarah Palin the perfect Harley Quin? Hmmm.

More importantly, if this means I can extend the wear on my own dream costume from door-to-door candy collecting to campaigning, then...hey, all the better. I'm all about getting as much use as possible out of my red boots. All for a good cause, right? All for a good cause.

That wasn’t even the funniest part of that episode (which I recall watching as a 10 year-old).

Robin looks at the campaign posters Batman has printed up and asked something like ....

“Gosh, Batman ...... couldn’t we make these just *a little* larger?”

“No, old chum …. the good citizens of Gotham will decide strictly on the issues”.

Even at that age, I gagged.

I used to think that Dick Cheney was the Penguin but McCain is a bit too Penguiny as well. I think maybe they're both the offspring of the original Penguin. Scary.

By the way, if you wear that Robin costume please, please, please do not come by my house trick or treating. Cuz I mean really, if that Robin shows up at my house, she's gonna get all my candy. I may be baking her cookies too if she'll let me. It would be hard to explain that I gave away all the candy to one adult in a Robin costume.... and oh, by the way, she's in the living room waiting for the cookies.
