Postcards from Florida
If these really were postcards and they were arriving here in Chicago via the old United States Post Office that is staffed by people I swear have a side gig in the break room removing individual bits of powdered sugar from donuts and is located about seven blocks from my place and yet takes postal carriers a good seven to twelve months to maybe deliver 2-day packages, these dispatches from our vacation that ended a week ago would be startlingly on time. So let's embrace the timeline and consider this dispatch absolutely and surprisingly punctual, shall we?
Day One, Valentine's Day with my sweetie. I wore the heart necklace he gave me last Christmas and saved the t-shirt for another day on our trip. When I said, "I can't believe you got me a shirt that says Sassy Mommy on it!" he smiled nonchalantly and said back, "Well, that's what you are! My sassy mommy!"
Lil E encounters a pirate ship (arrrgh!) at a flea market. The pirates worked the kid crowd, giving out Mardi Gras beads and making swashbuckling puns only the parents got, all to hawk their (get ready) Buck An Ear corn on the cob.
